Romans 8:25-31

We all can probably recite the text of Acts 2:38 “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost,” but I wonder if we have really thought about why the Spirit is given to each of us at that time. Keep in mind that the Holy Spirit, like God the Father and Jesus Christ the Son of God, is omnipresent. That means He is present everywhere at the same time, thus he can be in the heart of every Christian. Scripture simply says that we are the temple of God, that that he dwells within us, but why?

25  But if we hope for what we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.

We tend to pray for something, and usually we want it right now, just as soon as the words are spoken, but often that is not what is best for us. Like Jesus, who was led into the wilderness where he was tempted by Satan for the next forty days, Satan is going to try to frustrate this new babe in the Lord. A newborn baby, wrapped in an old newspaper and tossed into the nearest trash bin, is not likely to survive. The nurses will clean a premature baby and gently place him into an incubator. At least two of my own grandchildren began living in an incubator. One was in an incubator for a month before he was allowed to go home with his parents.

( Timothy 1:3)

26  Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray as we ought: but the Spirit maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Here, we find that we never pray alone. We have an advocate who prays far more effectively than we can ever do ourselves. The Spirit knows us better than we know ourselves, and he knows what lies ahead.

(Matthew 20:22, 2 Corinthians 128, John 14:16, Romans 8:15, Ephesians 6:18)

27  And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

I personally always pray in the name of Jesus who said, “No man cometh unto the Father but by me.” And I often include, “Thy will be done.” For only He knows the future and we can be certain that He wants what prepares us for that.

(Psalm 139:1, Luke 16:5, Acts 1:24, Revelation 2:23, Romans 8:6, Romans 8:34)

28  And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

(1 Peter 3:9, 2 Timothy 1:9, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 Peter 2:20, Romans 9:23, 1 Corinthians 2:7, Ephesians 1:5, , Ephesians 1:11, 1 Corinthians 15:49, Colossians 1:18, Hebrews 1:6)

(Romans 8:32, Romans 8:30, Romans 9:24, Romans 11:29, 1 Corinthians 1:9, Galatians 1:6, Galatians 1:15, Galatians 5:8, Ephesians 1:11, Ephesians 3:11, 2 Thessalonians 2:14, Hebrews 9:15, 1 Peter 2:9)

29  For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.

(Romans 11:2, 1 Corinthians 8:3, 2 Timothy 1:9, 1 Peter 1:2, 1 Peter 1:20, Romans 9:23, 1 Corinthians 2:7, Ephesians 1:5, Ephesians 1:11, 1 Corinthians 15:49, Philippians 3:21, Colossians 1:18, Hebrews 1:6)

30  Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified.

31  What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?

This is the light at the end of the tunnel. “If God be for us, who can be against us?” We have the Spirit dwelling in us to guide of decisions, we know that God loves us, Jesus suffered death on cross for us, and we are never alone. The Spirit represents us, praying so fervently on our behalf that Scripture calls it “groans!”

WHAT MUST I DO TO BE SAVED?

Arranged in the very words of Inspired men, by J.D. Phillips

1. BELIEVE
on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved (Acts 16:30,31). Without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). He that believeth not shall be damned (Mark 16:16). If ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins (John 8:24). Faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone (James 2:17).

2. REPENT
Every one of you (Acts 2:38). Except ye repent ye shall perish (Luke 13:3,5). God. Now commandeth all men everywhere to repent (Acts 17:30). Then hath God granted repentance unto life (Acts 11:18).

3. CONFESSION
is made unto salvation (Romans 10:10). If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved (Romans 10:9). Whosoever therefore shall confess me before men, him will I confess before my father which is in heaven (Matthew 10:32). Thou art the Christ (Matthew 16:16). "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God." (Acts 8:37).

4. BAPTISM
doth also now save us (1 Peter 3:21). He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved (Mark 16:16). Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God (John 3:5). He saved us, by the washing of regeneration and the renewing of the Holy Spirit (Titus 3:5). Be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ, for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38). Be baptized, and wash away your sins (Acts 22:16). Baptized into Christ (Galatians 3:27). Baptized into his death (Romans 6:3). If any man be in Christ he is a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17).

WE SHOULD LIVE soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world; looking for the blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God our Saviour Jesus Christ who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto him a peculiar people, zealous of good works (Titus 2:12-14).

YOU ... KEEP the ORDINANCES as I have delivered them unto you (1 Corinthians 11:2).

THE GRACE of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen (Revelation 22:21).
Blessed are they who do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city (Revelation 22:14).Labels: English Salvation Tracts

THE GREATEST CHRISTMAS PRESENT EVER!

A few days ago, time turned back when we celebrated Christmas with two of our little great grandsons. In preparation, we had tried to select gifts that we knew they would enjoy, limited of course by our pocketbooks. But, time backed up when they started to open them. Jevan, the 3 year old, struggled with the wrappings at times, but he got more excited with each gift he opened. The magic slate with it’s marker that writes only on it, was an instant hit, but the minature basket ball and basket from his aunt and uncle just cried to be tried out, then came our second gift, a miniature baseball and foam covered bat! He just could not wait to get out doors where, as we left his coach mother, was pitching him the ball Softball style. Baby Carter was not quite so excited, but excitement is catching and he played the Teddy we gave him that sang “Jesus Loves Me” over and over. Christmas is for children.

But our heavenly Father is even now preparing us for that best Christmas ever. Cost is not a factor, God can go beyond our wildest dreams for that time. Can you picture Christmas combined with the wedding feast of God’s only begotten Son? That is what lies ahead for the bride and groom; the church and Christ Jesus. Words can not do it justice, but He has sent out the invitations with just a glimpse of what to expect. All the angels and heavenly being shall be there. The heavenly choirs and music will be spectacular. Not a thing will go wrong. Listen:

Revelation 21:1-

1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
2 And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband.
3 And I heard a great voice out of heaven saying, Behold, the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God.
4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away.
5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.
7 He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and he shall be my son.
8 But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death.
9 And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues, and talked with me, saying, Come hither, I will shew thee the bride, the Lamb's wife.
10 And he carried me away in the spirit to a great and high mountain, and shewed me that great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God,
11 Having the glory of God: and her light was like unto a stone most precious, even like a jasper stone, clear as crystal;
12 And had a wall great and high, and had twelve gates, and at the gates twelve angels, and names written thereon, which are the names of the twelve tribes of the children of Israel:
13 On the east three gates; on the north three gates; on the south three gates; and on the west three gates.
14 And the wall of the city had twelve foundations, and in them the names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.
15 And he that talked with me had a golden reed to measure the city, and the gates thereof, and the wall thereof.
16 And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
17 And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.
18 And the building of the wall of it was of jasper: and the city was pure gold, like unto clear glass.
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;
20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolyte; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
21 And the twelve gates were twelve pearls: every several gate was of one pearl: and the street of the city was pure gold, as it were transparent glass.
22 And I saw no temple therein: for the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb are the temple of it.
23 And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof.
24 And the nations of them which are saved shall walk in the light of it: and the kings of the earth do bring their glory and honor into it.
25 And the gates of it shall not be shut at all by day: for there shall be no night there.
26 And they shall bring the glory and honor of the nations into it.
27 And there shall in no wise enter into it any thing that defileth, neither whatsoever worketh abomination, or maketh a lie: but they which are written in the Lamb's book of life.

APOCALIPSIS

Apocalipsis 13: 15-18 (Reina-Valera 1960)

16 Y hacía que a todos, pequeños y grandes, ricos y pobres, libres y esclavos, se les pusiese una marca en la mano derecha, o en la frente;
    17 y que ninguno pudiese comprar ni vender, sino el que tuviese la marca o el nombre de la bestia, o el número de su nombre.
    18 Aquí hay sabiduría. El que tiene entendimiento, cuente el número de la bestia, pues es número de hombre. Y su número es seiscientos sesenta y seis.

Apocalipsis 14:9-14 (Reina-Valera 1960)

9 Y el tercer ángel los siguió, diciendo a gran voz: Si alguno adora a la bestia y a su imagen, y recibe la marca en su frente o en su mano,
    10 él también beberá del vino de la ira de Dios, que ha sido vaciado puro en el cáliz de su ira;<""""><>(D) y será atormentado con fuego y azufre<""""><>(E) delante de los santos ángeles y del Cordero;
    11 y el humo de su tormento sube por los siglos de los siglos.<""""><>(F) Y no tienen reposo de día ni de noche los que adoran a la bestia y a su imagen, ni nadie que reciba la marca de su nombre.
    12 Aquí está la paciencia de los santos, los que guardan los mandamientos de Dios y la fe de Jesús.
    13 Oí una voz que desde el cielo me decía: Escribe: Bienaventurados de aquí en adelante los muertos que mueren en el Señor. Sí, dice el Espíritu, descansarán de sus trabajos, porque sus obras con ellos siguen.
